Access your Dreadnought mail

How does this work?

If you would like a Dreadnought.net address please send me a mail at postmaster@Dreadnought.net.  These Email accounts are only for friends.  There are two types of addresses you can have.

1.) Forwarding;

All mail sent to your something@Dreadnought.net address will be forwarded to an email address of your choosing.  For example, if you use something.member@hotmail.com as your email address, you will receive anything that is sent to your @Dreadnought.net address at the something.member@hotmail.com address.  The mail will not be stored by Dreadnought.net, it will only be received and forwarded right back out.

2.) Hosted;

Dreadnought.net can host your mail.  Any mail sent to something@sacredword.com will remain on the Dreadnought.net server.  It can be accessed by several methods;

a.) Web Based Email.  You can go to www.Dreadnought.net/sacredswordmail and read you mail online.  The interface is easy to use and works like Outlook.  You can even double click.

b.) A POP3 Email program.  I will explain how to set up Outlook XP and you can adapt these instructions to Outlook 2000 Outlook 97, Outlook Express, Eudora or even Pegasus Mail.

  1. Right click on Outlook on your desktop.

  2. Choose Properties.

  3. Choose email accounts.  Choose add email accounts.

  4. >Choose POP3. Type the name you wish to be know by.  Fill in your email address.  For in-coming and outgoing server use mail.dreadnought.net.  Use the Username and Password that was supplied when you requested an account.

  5. Click more settings. Click Out going server.  Click the check box to place a check next to My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication.  Leave the radio dot in "Use same settings as my mail server" and click OK.

  6. Next out and start Outlook.  You should be good to go.  If you have any problems, send me an email or post the issue and I will gladly walk you through the configuration of Outlook or any other program.

c.) The IMAP4 protocol.  Not for the faint of heart, this protocol will allow you to leave your mail on the server and read it from anywhere.  It will also allow you to look at the subjects of all of your messages and decide if you want to download them, or delete them.  This is for the experienced user and offers a lot of flexibility.

Rules;

1.) Use common sense.

2.) Don't harass anyone, send spam or huge files.  If you wouldn't do it on the phone, don't do it in Email.  Act honorably.  If it is rude, don't do it.  You can figure these things our for yourself.  And if you can't and I get a reasonable complaint, I will remove the account.

3.) I don't believe I will ever have to worry about these rules.
